Anchors Aweigh! December 2017
Thank you to Pastor Gustavo for taking time out of your busy schedule to aboard “Ship BAA” every morning during the week of October 23-27 to talk to our “crew” about hope and how to use our “Anchor”. Our theme verse for the year is Hebrews 6:19a, “We have this hope as an anchor of the soul both sure and steadfast.”
Monday he shared a story of something he experienced when he was a child. The story captivated the “crew” and caught their attention for the week ahead. Tuesday, he talked with them about “Wishful Hope”. Wednesday, the topic was “Expecting Hope”. Thursday he explained how to “Hope in God”. Friday, he ended with “Where is your Anchor?” He showed them a video of how an anchor works and related it to real life situations (“Drop It, Set It, and Forget It !”). Have we put our anchor in people or God? Decision Time: Are you going to set your anchor in people or God? We should drop or anchor in God, set our problems on him and forget about it because he’s taken over.
“Dear Jesus, Help us to set our anchor in you. Amen” (student prayer) May this be our daily prayer!
Another THANK-YOU to Bridget Luttrell for leading out with art projects this year. She has planned some creative and fun projects for the “crew” that go along with our nautical theme. They are thoroughly enjoying each project!
